First weeks at home with Emerson

Emerson has now been here almost 2 weeks. Here at home we have had so much fun getting to know him, and we are learning alot quickly. Like most babies he loves to eat and poop, and he hates bath time and diaper changes. Hopefully these experiences will become more enjoyable for him. It makes me sad to see him cry.

My mom just left on Wednesday after staying with us for a week. I wasn't sure if we would make it thru the night, but all is well. We appreciate so much all she did for us. We could not have made it without our families.

Stewart has been the best dad. Since he has the month of July off he is tons of help. He has been staying up and rocking him to sleep after late night feedings and changing lots of diapers. I have no clue what I am going to do when he actually has to go to work:)

Emerson has his first doctors appointment on Monday. Please continue to pray for his good health.

I can still hardly believe Stewart and I are actually parents. That is scary:)

...and then there were THREE!!

As one of our visitors told us in the hospital, "you come in as two and you leave as three".

It's amazing to think that the 40 week journey that started in the fall has come to a close, and now we start an even more amazing adventure. The morning sickness and enlarging bellies will now be replaced with baby diapers and sleepless nights.

On June 30th of 2008, Emerson Alexander Boyd came into the world at 7:03 PM. He was 6 lbs 15 oz and 19.5 inches long (much different from his dad who was almost 10 lbs). Melissa did an amazing job during delivery (and entire pregnancy), and she is feeling great.

Thank you to everyone that came to hospital to see us, and I really appreciate all the support and prayers. We are so very blessed to have this brand new bundle of joy and look forward to all the fun and excitement.
